Living in the Shining light

Each day in the cacophony of this city life one really ponders the real essence of the wants that we have embedded in your very core.Yes,that is the feeling that was ebbing in my conscience after waking up to the sudden appearance of the thought in my mind to accept the situation. My life has been like a mountain river curling along the edges and finding its own course to move from one day to another. We moved to a new neighbourhood,I love the house the quietness and the noise both. The strong smell of coffee coming from the kitchen stirring me to wake up and start the day...the new life.

Openness to accept the new changes in our lives is the life in itself.I am glad to bring the newness around me and accept the new challenges of setting up the life from scratch.

I am excited to be given this opportunity to make this life into a beautiful path.

Timeless Moments spent with family..

Finding Peonies

Last night me and Saugat laughed till our stomach's hurt.

I was recalling all the wonderful moments spent with Bijoya as a child
  • Mummy glaring at me for plucking her favourite flowers in the garden
  • Running on Puri beach with sand between our toes
  • Pretending to be smarter and counting stars on the terrace
  • Looking through beautiful colored marbles and treating them like real Gems
  • The soaring of heart with new stamps
  • Collecting colorful feathers of birds
  • Saving super cute lady bugs in Mango groves in ring cases(I still can feel the touch on velvet...they were so smooth)
Over 3 decades and all the wonders of taste, smell and touch still so reverent in my memories.

The revelation makes me think if we are actually living the days that we are spending or just really passing through all the traffic,to-do lists for work & personal life!!
Indeed it truly seems to be our choice really to either appreciate the glass half full or to cry over the empty half.

Wheatflour Pancakes

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup wholewheat flour
1 onion (grated)
1 tomato(grated)

2 eggs
1/2 milk
1 tsp Chili powder
1 tsp. oregano
3 Slitted green chili
Salt
Sugar
Chopped coriander

METHOD:

1. Mix flour, milk, eggs, chilli powder, oregano, sugar and Salt briskly to avoid any lumps. Then add the remaining items to the batter and mix it well.Let the batter stay for 20 mins.

2. Heat oil in a non stick pan over a moderate heat, then wipe it with oiled kitchen paper. Ladle some batter into the pan, tilting the pan to move the mixture around for a thin and even layer. Quickly pour any excess batter into a jug, return the pan to the heat, then leave to cook, undisturbed, for about 30 secs.

3.Flipping pancakes: Hold the pan handle, ease a flat spatula under the pancake, then quickly lift and flip it over. Make sure the pancake is lying flat against base of the pan with no folds, then cook for another 30 secs before turning out onto a warm plate. Continue with the rest of the batter, serving them as you cook or stack onto a plate. You can freeze the pancakes for 1 month, wrapped in cling film or make them up to a day ahead.

Hints of Excitement

Amidst the preparations of Diwali festives...somewhere you get these pangs of excitement about all the exuberance that the evening would have and somewhere deep down you feel the nostalgia about your past....the festive shopping...dressing up gaudy for the eve...entire family gathered for the puja at home which is followed by the most awaited family get togethers and dinners...the goodies....the kebabs...the biryani Mumma makes....everything...wow!!....nuthing can be compared to those moments that we spend with family looking at the full moon - brightly lit night sky...with a kind of anxiety of a child....guessing wats the next rocket is going to be like on the purple canvas of night...there are dreams and hopes and happiness floating around...love Diwali!
